Whenever I move house, I remember a great housekeeping tip that my parents always instilled in me.
If you can have as much storage as possible and keep things off the ground, the house will always look neat and tidy.
It also makes the cleaning the house easier too.
So what do you do when you start to fill your house with baby, toddler and children’s toys? I mean there’s only so many Ikea cupboards you can buy before your home starts to look like an Ikea warehouse.
The solution has been found by a creative and eco-friendly designer right here in Perth.
LivePlayCreate is the brainchild of Cathy Ballardin; a WA mum with a passion for sustainable design and a clean house!
Product
Sick of picking up hundreds of pieces of lego, mobilo and games, Ballardin set to designing a playmat and a colourful and uncluttered storage medium. From this two great designs have been born.
The fruut tree
Made from beautiful plantation birch wood, the fruut tree is designed to transform a normally cluttered toy room into a stylish, clean and colourful play zone. The tree works in conjunction with the fruut sacks.
The fruut tree is made from accredited plantation birch wood and can be attached to any wall. It is 132cm wide by 150cm tall and connects to the wall with 2 metal hooks that slide into 2 wooden brackets, drilled into the wall for stability.
The fruut sacks
The fruut sacks are a toy bag that convert to a play mat and back again, allowing you to store, transport and play in one functional bag. Perfect for toys with hundreds of small pieces such as lego, dolls clothes, tea sets and the like, fruut sacks allow you to keep most of the pieces on the play mat during playtime making pack away a breeze. Simply pull the string and hang back on the tree.
And here’s the best thing, grab a fruut sack on the way out of the house, and you have an instant bag full of toys and great place for the kids to sit and play. Brilliant for holidays, friends houses or trips to the park.
Available in 3 different sizes and 4 vibrant colours, the fruut sacks will mix and match with any bedroom colour scheme.
Verdict
Not just storage, the fruut tree can be a coat stand, bag stand, enchanted forest, tree house, fairy tree, hat stand…let your (or your child’s) imagination run wild. This is a great toy/storage/design piece that will look great for years to come. Not only that but your purchase also helps the underprivileged and neglected in Cambodia.
Through the LivePlayCreate ’tree of life’ campaign a donation is made to Focus Cambodia for every fruut tree sold. “Each product we add to our portfolio will have a higher purpose… in this way we can achieve our goals of contributing to our community” say Ballardin.
What a winner!
Handy Hint
Have no room for a Christmas tree? You can easily convert the Fruut Tree into a Christmas tree by adding decorations, Santa stockings, you name it. Let the kids decorate and have some fun.
